and lorries were sent for. I had an opportunity to see and speak to several of our men They looked fit, smart, well fed and disciplined, acting under orders of their officers. They said that they had been well treated by the Japanese at the Fort and fed on our own Army rations Among them that I knew I saw Hynes (H. K. V. D. C.) to whom I

spoke and I believe that most of these men were wounded during hostilities and unable to travel to Shamshui Po when the bulk of prisoners were removed after the capture of Stanley Peninsular."

I also went down and spoke to these men and saw there Captain Weiden not sure of this spelling but he married the youngest of Colonel Hailey-Bell's daughters and was at one time in the Chinese Maritime Customs in Shanghai Weiden was with one of the regiments a regular soldier.
